About Me
Hello. Welcome to “Life and Miles”. I’m Frank Spires. I’m glad you dropped in. Can I tell you a little about myself? I’m an aspiring writer who enjoys sharing stories, thoughts, life experiences, and so forth. I especially enjoy writing about what I’ve learned and what I have thought about over the course of my life. My hobbies include not only writing, but reading, traveling and taking care of my little fish pond.
I’m a Certified Public Accountant and own and operate a small practice to pay the bills. I love what I do for a living as it gives me a chance to help small businesses and individuals with income tax and other small business matters. (Don’t worry, I won’t be writing about those kinds of things here!). I’m blessed with a great team who have been with me for a number of years. I often tell people, truthfully, that the office runs better when I’m not there!
I come from very humble beginnings and have been blessed to travel and do things beyond what I could have ever imagined. I’ll share about those things on a regular basis at this site.
I have been married to the love of my life since I was 20. I think that means I’ve been married for more than 49 years. My wife and I have six children (three born to us, along with their spouses) and seven grandchildren. Who knows? I may share a few words from them from time to time. They both amuse and challenge me.
Most importantly, I am a follower of Christ and teach a group of men on Sunday mornings. My writings and my life are strongly influenced by my faith. I’ve not arrived. I’m a daily repenter, thankful that Christ made a way for me to serve Him and give me the assurance of eternal life. And while I won’t address my walk with Christ specifically on this site, I will do so on our sister site, “Life and Grace”. You can link there from here.
